Designed for campers entering grades 3-11, the ADVENTURE BOUND PROGRAM offers participants the opportunity to explore the outdoors through a series of day trips and overnights. This is the ideal program for the camper who is looking for an alternative to the traditional day camp experience. The program allows children and adolescents to gain self-confidence, make new friends, and learn practical skills in a safe, supportive environment. Since it began in the 1990s, Adventure Bound has expanded to develop into a favorite summer choice for many local children.
Adventure Bound is directed by Jim Watson, an outdoor enthusiast and former science teacher who has been a part of Camp West Woods for over 20 years. Each program is led by two senior staff members, chosen because of their knowledge of the outdoors, dedication to working with children, and overall maturity.

Although the destinations change each session, campers will have the opportunity to do many exciting activities such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain climbing, camping, boating, and much more. In addition, trips include water parks, beaches, and special surprises. On rainy days, the groups will visit such places as museums, the New England Aquarium, an indoor rock gym, and other indoor spaces.
Enrollment for the Adventure Bound programs is very limited.
All campers are expected to follow the camp rules and be able to regulate their own behavior. If you think your child may need extra assistance in order to have a positive experience, please call to speak with us or set up an appointment before camp begins.

BOUNDERS is for children entering grades 5 or 6 in the fall. The Bounders program is a two-week program consisting of day trips and a one-night overnight (for Session 2, the overnight takes place at Camp West Woods). Campers need to enroll for a minimum of one session, and can sign up for additional sessions as well.

XTREME TRAVEL CAMP is for young adults entering grades 9, 10 or 11 in the fall. The Xtreme program is a two-week program consisting of a rigorous 10-day camping trip out of state. Campers need to enroll for a minimum of one session but can sign up for both sessions.

TRAILBLAZERS is for children entering grades 3 or 4 in the fall. The Trailblazers program is a one-week program consisting of day trips and one late night. Campers need to enroll for a minimum of one session, but can sign up for both sessions.
